I think it is because the business has attracted some bad press due to some over hyped ‘get rich quick’ affiliate marketing training products, but I have been asked the question, Is affiliate marketing a real business? The answer I always give, without a moments hesitation, is yes. If you are looking to make a success of it, and build a real profitable business, than you should ignore the hype and take note of the following seven points.

1. Treat it seriously.

Even if you have invested no cash in your business, which is one of the great things about this industry. It is still a potentially valuable asset. Treat your business as if your life savings are riding on it. Some people think because it cost them nothing, it is worth nothing. If you think this way you will never succeed.

2. Make a plan.

I hate those tired old sayings, but this one is very apt here, “if you fail to plan you plan to fail.” Your plan can be as simple as a daily to do list, or as complex as a set of goals with time frames for each. Plan your day, and set your goals. Make them realistic otherwise it will be difficult to maintain your motivation.

3. Follow through.

Once you have your plan then stick to it. If you say, “I will build one website per week, and write four articles a day,” then make sure you do it. It can be difficult to keep going before you start to see results, but as the sales start coming in it will become easier.

4. Take action.

One of the best keys to success you can learn is, if you do nothing then nothing will happen. You must take action, and keep taking action. Do one thing per day to build your business,.It is amazing how fast things build if you take consistent small steps.

5. Invest in yourself.

Find some good training to help you to grow your business. This is one of the best investments you can make in yourself, and there are lots of good resources available to you on the internet.

6. Scale up your successes.

If one of your campaigns or websites starts to make more sales, then shift your focus to it. If sales are happening then it is much easier, and a more profitable use of your time, to write more articles or build more links to this already proven success, then to use your efforts starting a new campaign.

7. Don’t give up.

Keep going, if you follow this plan you will find success, so don’t give up. The more content, and sites, you build, the more chances you have of making that commission.

Is affiliate marketing a real business? Yes very real, if you go about it in the right way. Get some good affiliate marketing training, work at it daily, and in time you will be joining the ranks of the super affiliates.
